Microsoft introduces AI-powered “Eye Contact” Feature for Surface Pro X

There’s no doubt that the Surface Pro X is one of the most elegant looking devices of 2019. The Microsoft Surface Pro X only comes in a single black color variant. It has professional looks as the metal chassis of the laptop is more prone to fingerprints than any other in the series. Due to its thin build with only 7.3mm thickness, the hands-on experience of Microsoft Surface Pro X will make you feel like you are using a pro.

Microsoft Surface Pro X: A Detailed Review

When it comes to providing a great user experience, Microsoft Surface Pro X is no less than others. With its impressive features, it remains among the top choices of the users. Below we have discussed in detail about its specifications.

It is available in a black variant.

The Microsoft Surface Pro X comes with Windows 10 Home operating system, and it can complete the given tasks very efficiently with the Microsoft SQ1 processor. It processes the graphics with the Adreno 685 graphics processing unit. When it comes to memory and storage availability, the Microsoft Surface Pro features two variants of 8GB and 16GB LPDDR4x memory. It comes in 3 storage variants 128GB, 256 GB, 512GB.

The connectivity options in the Microsoft Surface Pro X are quite impressive. It comes with a Wi-Fi 5 connectivity along with Qualcomm Snapdragon X24 and a Bluetooth 5.0. Along with all this, it has port connectivity options like Surface Keyboard connector, a nano-SIM, a Surface Connect and two USB 3.2 generation 2 Type-C connectors. The Microsoft Surface Pro X comes with a Windows Hello face authentication camera and has a battery that lasts up to 13 hours when used moderately.

Microsoft Surface Pro X: Additional Accessories

The Microsoft Surface Pro X has two options for keyboards; however, neither of them you will get with your device. It has two keyboard variants: the standard keyboard and the signature keyboard. You can have the standard keyboard by paying an additional price of $140. However, the signature keyboard can be added with the device at a price of $270.

Both of them have 2-second generation USB Type-C ports, and you can use either of them for data transfer, display out as well as for charging other devices. You will, however, see a lack of a Type-A port, Thunderbolt 3, micro SD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, you may purchase a headphone adapter if you don’t want to use the inbuilt Bluetooth. You can also opt for an additional $12 Type-C if you wish to. If you look at the rest of the features, overall, the Microsoft Surface Pro X looks premium and has excellent features in its price range. And with the upcoming updates, it is getting even better, with the addition of more premium features. Recently Microsoft has announced a new feature for the Surface Pro X. In the title below, we have discussed it in detail. You may go through it for obtaining information about the newly announced feature by Microsoft for the Surface Pro X.

Microsoft’s ‘Eye Contact’ feature will now be seen on Surface Pro X

The all-new Eye Contact feature by Microsoft will now be seen on the Surface Pro X. Finally, after a long time, it is starting to roll out. This AI-powered “Eye Contact” feature is similar to Apple’s FaceTime feature which you will see in the all-new iOS 14. The release of this feature is very near as it is all set to roll out as a part of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20175.

This feature, as announced by Microsoft, will rely on the SQ1 processor’s AI capabilities. The SQ1 processor is a part of Microsoft Surface Pro X. The primary purpose of this feature is to make it look like you are always in eye contact with the camera. Even if you are looking down on display or your lens is off to the side, this feature will adjust accordingly, where, in a video call your eyes are looking.

Even though this eye contact correction feature works only when your device will be in the landscape mode, it will, however, by default, be applicable to all the applications which use the front camera.
